Enterprise mobility and its benefits!

March 27, 2017

Mobility

The enterprise mobility trend emerged around 2010 and, by now, it has proven to be extremely popular, mainly because it is an approach easily adopted. The primary advantage of mobile enterprise solutions, which is enjoyed by employees, is that they can work anywhere without having to worry about access to the necessary resources, while at the same time they can provide full service to their customers, no matter where they are.

In that sense, employees can manage their own working schedule and (as the modern business environment is constantly changing) flexibility and quick actions are fundamental for any business that wants to keep its customers satisfied. So, when employees can actually customize their daily schedule based on the existing needs, this means that they can not only take better care of the existing customers, but they also have the ability to successfully seek new partnerships that will benefit the business.

Another positive aspect of enterprise mobility is the increased efficiency of laptop users, who appear to increase their productivity by 13% in comparison to the people working on desktop systems at their office. More than 50% of employees working with laptops, use their devices at home, while 60% of them are more flexible regarding the location and the way they can work.

Equally positive are the results for cooperation and team spirit. Thanks to enterprise mobility, mobile devices and mobile apps allow employees to cooperate seamlessly, regardless of their geographic location, which results in increased productivity.

Based on the above, it is safe to say that enterprise mobility has become one of the most prominent trends and, as a powerful technology, can directly affect other domains, processes and technologies:

BYOD and security

Undoubtedly, BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) has become an important factor of modern business. Employees can bring their own mobile devices (smartphones, laptops and tablets) at work, so as to use them and connect them to a secure corporate network.

App development

As competition is becoming more and more intense, businesses increasingly focus on mobility, developing individual apps for even more productive work.

Access and ID management

This trend is continuously gaining popularity, as it provides ultimate control to app users. It mostly focuses on features such as one time sign-in and customized privacy.

Risk and security

This is something that concerns all those who need to access confidential data. The existing systems need to have the right security controls that will handle malware, encryption and certification.

Infrastructure

When a business decides to employ enterprise mobility, this means they have decided to invest in infrastructure. Functionality, security, reliability and uninterrupted service provision -these are the basic principles without which no business can achieve maximum performance and gain an advantage over competition.
